List of products by brand POWELL PERALTA

Engineer and skateboarder George Powell started making his own skateboards in 1957.

In 1974, his son came to ask him for a board... He then started making his own boards and wheels again, trying new materials and manufacturing processes, one of his test-riders was Stacy Peralta.

He left Los Angeles for Santa Barbara (California), and launched himself entirely into the manufacture of skateboards. In 1976, he notably built the Quicksilver ProSlalom board, then the Quicktail, marketed via Sims.

George also started making wheels. He developed wheels that he called Bones (bones, in English), because of their white color. These wheels are since and still today among the best on the market.

In 1978, George teamed up with Stacy Peralta.

In the 1980s, they launched a lot of young skaters by taking them into their team. Among Tony Hawk, Franky Hill, Steve Caballero, Steve Saiz and Colin McKay.

In the late 1980s the company was renamed Powell Corporation, and subsequently re-introduced many Powell-Peralta models from the 1980s under the Powell Classic logo.

In 2004 George Powell and Stacy Peralta joined forces again to form the Powell Classic Company, the brand under which many pro models of the 1980s were remanufactured. Main models: Steve Caballero, Kevin Harris, Per Welinder, Ray "Bones" Rodriguez, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain, Tommy Guerrero, Ray Barbee, Steve Steadham and Mike Vallely.

In late 2010 Powell Skateboards and Powell Classic merged to recreate Powell-Peralta. Powell-Peralta continues to release so-called "classic" merchandise (boards, wheels, clothing and videos) but also updated products and new products. Indeed, today the group of pro skaters Powell-Peralta is constituted among others by: Steve Caballero, Jordan Hoffart, Chad Bartie, Kilian Martin.
